Position Description
Sr Proposal Manager
The Senior Proposal Manager is responsible for leading the development and submission of high-quality, compelling, and compliant proposals in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other solicitation types. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing tight deadlines, and ensuring the delivery of winning proposals that align with organizational objectives.
The right candidate will have extensive proposal management and Technical writing experience supporting Agile Software Development, DevSecOps, Cloud Implementations, and Cybersecurity Support.
•Oversee the end-to-end proposal development process, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal standards.
•Develop and manage proposal schedules, outlines, and compliance matrices.
•Lead kick-off meetings, status updates, and proposal reviews.
•Ensure proposals are compelling, well-written, and strategically aligned with client needs.
•Coordinate cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts (SMEs), writers, graphic designers, and production staff.
•Assign roles and responsibilities to team members, ensuring clarity and accountability.
•Provide mentorship and guidance to junior proposal staff.
•Draft and edit proposal content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and persuasiveness.
•Review and refine technical, management, and pricing narratives for clarity and impact.
•Implement and enforce quality control measures to maintain high standards.
•Ensure proposals meet all solicitation requirements, including formatting, content, and submission protocols.
•Identify and mitigate potential risks in the proposal development process.
•Maintain a library of reusable content, templates, and best practices.
•Conduct post-submission debriefs to identify areas for improvement.
•Stay updated on industry trends, competitor strategies, and proposal best practices.
•Collaborate with business development teams to shape win strategies and value propositions.
•Contribute to capture planning efforts, including market research and client analysis.
Years Experience:
•10+ years of experience in proposal management, with a proven track record of managing large and complex proposals.
•Experience with government (federal, state, or local) and/or commercial proposals.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
