Responsibilities
As an Acoustic System Test Engineer with Sabre Systems, you will be supporting the Airborne Acoustic Signal Processing (AASP) team that's developing and integrating software and tools in support of one of the Navy's most technologically sophisticated aircraft platforms, the P-8A. The selected applicant will conduct test/quality assurance activities for:
The AASP team in Warminster supports the Acoustic Subsystem on the P-8A aircraft as part of the Acoustic Software Support Activity. An integral function of the AASP team is to deliver fully qualified signal and information processing software components to be integrated in the P-8A.
McPAPS is a test tool that's used to stimulate NAVAIR Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) acoustic sensor processing systems. The signal generation capabilities of McPAPS are used to test how well acoustic systems perform with specific input signals.

- Signal and Information Processing software components for the P-8A aircraft
- Many-Channel Programmable Acoustic Processor Stimulator (McPAPS) software
- Acoustic Subsystem software
The AASP team in Warminster supports the Acoustic Subsystem on the P-8A aircraft as part of the Acoustic Software Support Activity. An integral function of the AASP team is to deliver fully qualified signal and information processing software components to be integrated in the P-8A.
McPAPS is a test tool that's used to stimulate NAVAIR Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) acoustic sensor processing systems. The signal generation capabilities of McPAPS are used to test how well acoustic systems perform with specific input signals.
The selected applicant will:
- Collaborate with real-time code developers to integrate system software
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures to assess acoustic signal processing software components
- Develop test tools to aid in ability to process acoustic data
- Generate test reports and software trouble reports.
- Apply system knowledge to investigate Software Trouble Reports (STRs) for P-8A Operational Computer Software Configuration Item (OPCSCI) and McPAPS SW.
- Apply system knowledge to develop scenarios for McPAPS
- Utilize Windows and Linux based assets
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related degree. Relevant experience will be considered if degree requirement is not met.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities to integrate and evaluate software
- Willingness to participate in processes applicable to full software development lifecycle activities including requirements, design, integration and test.
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Working knowledge of MATLAB or Python or equivalent tool to aid in analysis of signals
- Knowledge of signal processing, Fourier analysis, and filters (could be gained via coursework or relevant work experience)
- Candidate must be able to acquire a Top Secret Clearance
- Candidate must be willing to gain a CompTIA Certification
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) Aircraft Weapons Systems and software processes a plus
- Knowledge Analog/Digital Communications (FM/FSK/GFSK)
- Knowledge of software containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Software Integration and Test or Quality Assurance experience
- Ocean Acoustics & Associated Signal Processing
- Experience with Audio Processing techniques
