As a VoIP Engineer, the individual will monitor and control the performance and status of voice and video resources across multiple enclaves and locations utilizing software and hardware tools. In this role, the Engineer will configure and install VoIP hardware/software replacements and upgrades. In addition, the individual will work to ensure all voice applicable STIGs and vulnerabilities are resolved or mitigated in a timely manner
Responsibilities
• Identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting voice services
• Troubleshoots voice related issues and outages, which may occur during non-core hours
• Works with vendors in support of the ITCSU
• Ensures all voice applicable STIGs and vulnerabilities are resolved or mitigated in a timely manner
• Performs preventative maintenance services on all devices within the VoIP area of responsibility
• Maintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in voice and video services
• Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office
Required Qualifications/Education and Experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of experience designing, building, and/or maintaining communications systems with minimum of one (1) year experience with CISCO Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) Version 10.5 or newer
• Knowledge of cable management and patching with Ethernet and analog phones
• Prior experience with SIP, SCCP, MGCP, PSTN, and H.323.
• Must have and maintain CCNA Route and Switch certification and/or CCNA Collaboration certification
• Must be DoD 8570 certified at the IAT-II / IAM-II level.
• Must have and maintain a Secret personnel clearance and must be eligible for a TS
Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience
• Prior experience with Cisco Unity, Cisco Presences, Cisco Emergency Responder, and Cisco UCCX
Requirements:
Clearance: Minimum of an Active Secret Clearance with Top Secret/SCI eligibility.
Years of Experience: Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with VoIP
Certifications: CCNA and an IAT-II or IAM II (CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CAP, CASP, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC)
Technical Skills:
-Experience in building, and/ or maintaining communications systems with Cisco (they will not take someone with Avaya instead)
-Must be able to implement and configure Cisco VoIP systems. (they do not need to know how to design, but they will need to know how to configure and troubleshoot with minimal oversight)
-Experience with CISCO Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) Version 10.5 or newer (still send me the candidates if they don't have this specific version, but to please list which version they do have experience with)
-Experience with SCCP and MGCP for managing Cisco IP phone systems and media gateways.
-Understanding of PTSN for integrating VoIP systems
-Experience in SIP and H.323 protocols for real-time voice, video, and data communications over IP networks.
Unified Communication (UC) experience; technical refresh; Integrate with legacy technology to new technology
• This candidate will be responsible for all escalated tickets at the Russell Knox Building.
• This candidate can expect a large volume of tickets weekly. Usually, the tickets are for phone number changes, phone conversions, UC systems, and increasing the volume and userbase.
