The Senior Software Engineering Manager oversees the design, development, and delivery of software systems and applications in a dynamic Agile environment. This role leads a team of software engineers, ensuring the successful execution of technical and program objectives while fostering innovation, collaboration, and adherence to best practices. The Senior Software Engineering Manager acts as a bridge between engineering, program leadership, and stakeholders, driving technical excellence and maintaining a strong focus on quality and timely delivery.

Proposed Pay Scale: $160,200-$201,800

What you will do:
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
- Develop and implement software engineering strategies, plans, and processes aligned with program goals.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of complex software solutions in compliance with technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Collaborate with program managers, systems engineers, and product owners to define software requirements and priorities.
- Ensure engineering teams adhere to Agile methodologies, DevSecOps principles, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) best practices.
- Drive software architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical problem-solving efforts.
- Monitor and report on team performance, project progress, and technical risks to program leadership.
- Manage resource allocation and staffing to meet program needs, identifying skill gaps and training opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging software technologies, tools, and practices to ensure competitive advantage.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages professional growth and high performance.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, security requirements, and company policies.
- Represent the software engineering team in program reviews, customer meetings, and technical discussions.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance required; Top Secret/SCI eligibility is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 12 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale software programs in Agile environments.
- Strong technical background in software development using languages such as Java, Python, C++, or similar.
- Experience with DevSecOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in software development lifecycle tools such as JIRA, GitLab, Jenkins, or equivalent.
- Deep understanding of software quality assurance practices and performance optimization techniques.
