Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Network Operations Tier II Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals.
In this role you will support the Customs and Border Protection (CBP). CBP Network Management Support Services provide CBP Network(s) support and is responsible for Network(s) Management, Operations, and Maintenance for all CBP Network(s) infrastructure. Support includes providing real-time incident monitoring, predictive and proactive analysis and reporting, incident resolution and escalation, problem management and resolution, coordinating of events related to network communications, network utilization and availability analysis and reporting. CBP Network Management also provides Local Area Network (LAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Enterprise Data Management and Engineering (EDME) LAN, and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). CBP Network Management is the focal point for network troubleshooting, updating, router and domain name management, and coordination with affiliated networks.
The CBP Network Management Center is staffed 24x7x365 with three (3) shifts of mid to senior level technicians. The Primary facility is located in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area and the Secondary facility is located in Orlando, Florida, and staffed as active/active operations centers. The active/active operation provides for increased situational awareness, increased availability, and the staffing to ensure continuity of operations should something happen to the other location.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- The NOC Tier 2 Analyst will be responsible for monitoring network services and responding to events and alarms, supporting the incident management process, including defining the impact, properly escalating, and resolving incidents.
- In addition, the Tier 2 Analyst will support service and change requests for a highly critical and dynamic WAN/LAN/MAN environment.
- The Tier 2 Analyst will plan and execute security remediations and OS upgrades to network devices.
- The NOC operates 24/7/365, the NOC will be staffed with shift schedules and the candidate will a member of a team working one of those shifts.
- The NOC will collectively work to maintain the Network to meet performance and stability requirements, allowing our customer to meet our business needs.
- Serve as the team lead for Tier 2 or Operations while on shift.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have 10 years of experience, hands-on experience in network operations, with supervisory or leadership experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required, with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- Proven experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment, providing Tier II support for complex network infrastructures.
- Strong understanding of the OSI model (Layers 1-3).
- Advanced working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, including:
- Routing
- Switching
- VRF
- VLANs
- IPsec VPNs
- Bandwidth utilization
- Load balancers
- Hands-on experience with network security devices and technologies.
- Expertise in setting up and utilizing tools such as:
- Wireshark
- Syslog
- Netscout
- SteelCentral
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to monitor and maintain overall network health.
- Willingness to work afternoon and evening shifts (12 PM - 8 PM or 2 PM - 10 PM).
