About this role:
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with strong ETL development skills to manage, optimize, and secure our Oracle database environments while also supporting ETL development initiatives. The successful candidate will split their time between database administration tasks and developing ETL processes to support our data integration and data warehousing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both database management and data integration, ensuring smooth operation, performance, and security of Oracle databases while building efficient ETL workflows.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, maintain, and optimize Oracle databases. Perform patching, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting tasks.
Manage database security, including the implementation of Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), SSL/TLS network encryption, and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
Analyze and tune database performance, including query optimization, indexing, and overall database efficiency.
Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to load, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources into data warehousing and data mart environments.
Optimize ETL workflows for performance, scalability, and data integrity.
Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to understand data requirements and implement data pipelines.
Work closely with development teams to ensure database design is aligned with application needs and performance goals.
Provide on-call support and troubleshooting during off-hours as needed, ensuring system reliability during critical operations.
Requirements
Must be willing to work on-site occasionally in San Antonio, TX
Must be eligible to maintain required SECRET security clearance
A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience and certifications will also be considered.
3+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with expertise in database installation, patching, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
2+ years of experience in ETL development, including data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
Experience with Infosphere
Must have a strong knowledge of SQL.
Must have the ability to develop packages and stored procedures.
