Akima Data Management is currently seeking System Administrator to join the team and his responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

  • Administers, develops, runs tests, implements, and maintains operating system and related software.
  • Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems.
  • Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and performs data recoveries.
  • Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts.
  • Configures hardware, such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices.
  • Provides technical support for system users.
  • Performs work under general supervision.
  • Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

Qualifications

  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required for consideration.
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Telecommunications, or Management Information Systems preferred, and have 3 years of documented experience relevant to this position. Alternatively, have 6 years of documented experience relevant to this position.
  • Demonstrate 3 years of experience in producing, managing, and maintaining network architectural drawings and schematic diagrams.
  • Demonstrate 3 years of experience providing installation support for network applications.
  • Demonstrate 3 years of experience performing network monitoring of the network to include all assets.
  • Demonstrate 3 years of experience providing technical support, advice and troubleshooting for utility network operations with a 99.999% target network uptime.
  • Demonstrate 3 years of experience producing documentation for use in configuration, repair and troubleshooting of hardware, software and network operating systems.
  • Demonstrate 3 years working with TCP/IP in Software Defined Network (SDN) design.
  • Demonstrate 3 years of experience troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
  • Demonstrate 3 years of experience installing and configuring network equipment.

Desired Qualifications:
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification preferred.
