JOB DESCRIPTION

Position : System Administrator

Position Summary:

Our company is seeking a System Administrator to provide support for systems, servers, appliances, communications devices, and software for AMC's C2 and Business Systems. Ensure systems, servers, appliances, communications devices, and operating system/application software are properly configured for network operation, are online, and are available to customers.

HQ AMC/A6's mission is to provide integrated Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Information (C4I) systems and manage strategic C4I resources in support of AMC's global air mobility mission. HQ AMC/A6 requires technical and support task services that enable the operational functionality and readiness state of the systems, infrastructure, and services that satisfy the HQ AMC/A6 mission for the Mobility Air Force (MAF) C2 Business Systems, projects, applications, and infrastructures. These services, in total, are referred to as Systems Infrastructure, Applications, Operations, and Maintenance Services (SIAOMS). SIAOMS is AMC's answer to meeting these IT challenges by leveraging hardware, software, services, and support resource consolidation.

Clearance Eligibility: Active DoD - Secret

Salary: The salary offered will depend on education, certifications, length and relevance of work history, and professional experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organize, install, test, and support an organization's computer systems.
  • Build, configure, and install both client and server computer systems.
  • Ensure each system is configured in compliance with organizational security policy.
  • Monitor system performance and initiate steps to resolve identified errors or performance degradations.
  • Create system and data backups and test to ensure they are viable in case of catastrophic events.
  • Troubleshoot system and application errors and ensure systems are available to the user community.

Education and Certification Requirements:
  • IAT Level II (Security+CE preferred)
  • High School or equivalent

Background and Experience:

At least 4 years of experience in system administration.

Required Technical Skills:
  • Experience and knowledge of Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, IIS Server.
  • Experience with active directory and group policies.
  • Working knowledge of systems administration processes and hardware and software components.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the tools, concepts, practices, and procedures of security incident management, threat intelligence, and continuous monitoring.
  • Knowledgeable of hardware and software capabilities and limitations supporting the functional system.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic computer hardware/software installations and issues, including Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019 operating systems.
  • Skilled proficiency in using and troubleshooting Microsoft Server issues.
  • Detail-oriented with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to administer highly reliable systems solutions for delivering required business capabilities.
  • Ability to utilize available tools and resources to resolve issues.
  • Ability to communicate/explain technical information clearly and concisely to a broad range of people with varying levels of technical expertise


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • General office environment. Work is generally sedentary but may require movement about the office for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
  • Contractor site with 0-10% travel possible.
  • Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages.
  • Occasional movement of small articles up to 10 lbs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Continually operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Occasionally required to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
  • Continually required to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
