Systems Engineer/MBSE Modeler (SEMIV-Day)

Cognatus is a specialized Research and Development (R&D) firm focused on the design, creation, and evolvement of innovative modeling and simulation solutions serving the Aerospace and Defense communities. Cognatus has developed a novel software technology and associated processes to enable direct machine interpretation and execution of graphical, descriptive architecture languages, which is proving revolutionary in the application of physics-based simulation to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Cognatus is seeking a highly talented and creative software developer/modeler to assist in the expansion of these capabilities. This position involves modeling systems and concepts using the Cognatus ontologies and modeling methodology for MBSE (Model-based Systems Engineering) and development of software integration delegates. BS or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.

Experience in the following areas is desired in order of importance:

· 5+ years of experience in software development, modeling, and/or architecture

· Familiar with discrete-event simulation, decision trees, graph theory, and finite state machines

· Experienced with the Unified Modeling Language (UML) with a focus on behavioral diagrams and simulation

· Strong physics background

· Understanding of astrodynamic algorithms and satellite operations

· Familiar with fUML and executable UML constructs

· Experience with UML/SysML modeling tools, such as Magicdraw

· Possessing an active TS/SCI clearance is required
