Program Description:
As the nation's combat logistics support agency, the Defense Logistics Agency manages the global supply chain for our military and national defense. DLA also supplies 86 percent of the military's spare parts and nearly 100 percent of fuel and troop support consumables, manages the reutilization of military equipment, provides catalogs and other logistics information products, and offers document automation and production services to a host of military and federal agencies. DLA is a global enterprise - wherever the United States has a significant military presence, DLA is there to support.
Position Descriptions:
Provides all activities related to the administration of computerized databases. Projects long- range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function. Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment. Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Advises users on access to various client/server databases. Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to JCL , access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end /back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL). Performs database programming and supports systems design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.

Minimum experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- Five (5) years progressive experience of database query languages such as Oracle, PL SQL, SQL, MySQL Server, and MS Access. Also has at least three years hands-on experience and expertise in Database Schema management. Experience also shall include capability to work on various operating systems and additional programming languages. Has experience in at least two projects in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer database.
- Working knowledge of Hana client setup, configuration, and Hana pass through queries.
Technical Skill:
- Working knowledge and experience performing Oracle database analysis tasks in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows development and production environments.
- Working knowledge and understanding Oracle RDBMS, SQL, MySQL, and PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers, and data access optimizations.
- Working knowledge and experience with PL/SQL, SQL Loader, and all aspects of data ETL into Oracle database on RHEL and Windows systems.
- Working knowledge and experience with Monarch Model and Microsoft's SourceSafe.
- Working knowledge and analytical database experience on large-scale application data models
- Working knowledge and experience with Data mart population and dimensional models, including aggregation, partitioning, indexing strategies.
- Working knowledge and experience with data modeling tools, Erwin, in development and documentation of logical and physical data models for all Oracle instances.
- Working knowledge and experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL, PL/SQL.
- Working knowledge and experience with RHEL including shell scripting (Born, Korn shell)
- Working knowledge and experience with VB and Java.
- Working knowledge and experience with database performance and tuning techniques.
- Working knowledge and experience in backing up and recovering databases from various situations (hot and cold backups).
- Working knowledge and experience in upgrade of a major release of the Oracle software.
- Working knowledge and experience in applying Oracle provided Critical Patch Update maintenance.
- Working knowledge and experience with current Oracle database and data warehousing features.
- Working knowledge and experience with physical database design.
- Working knowledge and experience with Oracle backup and recovery scenarios.
- Working knowledge and experience with Oracle security management.
- Working knowledge and experience with Oracle data integrity implementation.
- Full project life cycle development experience in code migration, database change management and data management.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects.
- Working knowledge and experience with Visual Basic, Oracle PL/SQL, Java, Java Scripting, Oracle (Current version) and RHEL.
- Working knowledge and experience in Administration of Oracle Weblogic Application Server. Must be able to install, configure, monitor and service the components
- Must be able to create diagnostic modules, setup alerts and notifications using WebLogic Diagnostic Framework and WLST scripting
- Must possess knowledge of security realms, authentication providers and have experience with setting up connections between WebLogic and Oracle Identity Management servers
