SAIC is searching for a Program Technical Lead who has a mix of systems architecture and Agile team lead experience with solid communication skills to perform task lead activities in support of the S3I Aviation Trainers Branch (ATB), Redstone Arsenal, in Huntsville, AL. The role requires hands-on technical leadership. You will be responsible for technical decision-making, ensuring the quality and scalability of solutions, and coordinating cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.

Primary tasks are project and sprint management duties. Daily tasks could include:

Project Management and Technical Leadership:
  • Project Planning and Execution: Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. Break down complex projects into actionable tasks. Generate incremental milestones in support of project schedule as established by customer. Perform sprint management tasks, to include sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, task prioritization in terms of backlog management, etc.
  • Resource Management: Assist in allocating tasks effectively based on team members' strengths, track progress, and adjust as needed.
  • Risk Management: Assist in identifying project risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address any blockers.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain communication with stakeholders, including clients, product managers, and senior leadership, to ensure project alignment and transparency.
  • Agile Methodology: Participate as a Product Owner in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and review meetings; encourage agile best practices.
  • Architecture & Design: Coordinate the design and architecture of software solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:
  • Team Development: Foster a collaborative and innovative environment. Encourage team growth through coaching, knowledge sharing, and continuous feedback.
  • Skill Development: Identify skill gaps within the team and facilitate training or mentoring opportunities to close those gaps.
  • Conflict Resolution: Act as a mediator in resolving interpersonal or technical conflicts within the team.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field and nine (9) years of hands-on experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or project management role.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must possess a Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; US Citizenship required.

Required Qualifications:
  • Five (5)+ years of hands-on experience in software development, with at least two (2) years in a technical leadership or project management role.
  • Proven track record of leading technical teams and delivering software projects on time and within scope.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Previous experience with systems architecture
