Job Description:
The Field Engineering Specialist is responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the complete spectrum of avionics systems and proprietary communication systems on various single and multi-engine aircraft. Maintains, repairs, tests and/or calibrates various types of aircraft electronic equipment and related devices such as transmitters, amplifiers, receivers, RF distribution equipment, computer controllers, and workstations. Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles and strong knowledge in troubleshooting techniques to determine avionics malfunctions and restore aircraft to full operational status. Installs and maintains Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) modifications to the aircraft and advises operations and maintenance personnel on their use. Performs work in accordance with technical manuals, schematics, engineering drawings, and written/verbal instructions.
This position is not a rotational position. This is a full-time, 40+ hour work week, position which is based onsite in Fayetteville, NC.

Essential Functions:
- Apply knowledge and understanding of operational procedures, inspection requirements, troubleshooting, and maintenance techniques to aircraft communications/navigation and ancillary electronics systems.
- Utilize a variety of aircraft test equipment, technical publications, and schematics.
- Physical requirements of the job include lifting, bending, and climbing.
- Willingness and ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS up to 50%.
Qualifications:
- Active Secret (or greater) security clearance which has been investigated within the last six years with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- 2+ years experience in aircraft avionics operation, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection.
- 2+ years experience working with a wide range of technical reference material from commercial/OEM manuals to blueprints/engineering drawings.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Top Secret security clearance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
