RiverTech is seeking a skilled Communications Security (COMSEC) Specialist to support the Joint Staff Security Office (JSSO) in providing comprehensive security services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, operating, and safeguarding COMSEC measures, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of classified and sensitive information. Responsibilities

  • Implement and operate the Joint Staff (JS) COMSEC account and support JS users with COMSEC materials.
  • Support process engineers with the mapping of COMSEC processes and support knowledge engineers for automation of COMSEC processes within the JS.
  • Maintain and update current COMSEC posture by providing daily oversight and operational control of various cryptographic hardware and software devices.
  • Support JS COMSEC customers by responding to queries, requests for assistance, and by providing subject matter expertise.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits and reviews of JSSO COMSEC procedures in accordance with DoD, National, and JS standards.
  • Develop and provide initial training and guidance, including annual refresher training, to personnel on the proper use and handling of COMSEC equipment and materials within the J-directorates.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting related to COMSEC incidents, key management, and equipment inventories.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in a respective field of expertise.
  • TS Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • IAEC2112 Certification from National Security Agency (NSA).
  • Electronic Key Material System (EKMS) course certification.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of the U.S. Government Security Programs and skills in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements for which they support.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and resolve complex issues.
