ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Mid-level Network Engineer to join our team. The position may be based in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area, or Stennis, MS. You will provide critical skills as part of a team to operate, manage, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues and maintain a secure network. A thorough understanding of LAN/WAN integration, TCP/IP, switching, and routing is essential. You will also be expected to provide experience in deploying desktops, servers, cabling, switches, bridges, and routers to ensure end to end connectivity. This position may also support some system and server administration and desktop services as part of a larger team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Designing and implementing network solutions, topologies, and services to ensure efficiency, security, and reliability of current networks
  • Working in a team environment to support effective customer service
  • Analyzing network topologies and making recommendations on network equipment and services
  • Configuring firewalls, load balancing, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
  • Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Arranging scheduled upgrades
  • Strong experience with implementing configuration baselines and DoD STIGs
  • Strong experience with vulnerability mitigation and patching
  • Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
  • Investigating faults in the network
  • Leading and training more junior engineers
  • Reporting network status to key stakeholders
  • Have flexible working hours to be available to support team when needed
  • Perform other associated duties as assigned
  • Collaborate and work closely with cyber security personnel and teams to analyze, respond, resolve and recover from network vulnerabilities and issues


Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three (3) year of related experience
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline -OR- Successful completion of a certified technical/vocational school
  • IAT Level II certification
  • A CCNA, CCNP, or other related certifications -OR- Specialty experience
  • Expertise in Windows networks, Cisco Systems, and network monitoring products and technologies
  • Experience in routed, switched, and wireless LAN environments that operate Microsoft, UNIX, and OpenVMS
  • Previous experience with ServiceNow
  • Documenting topologies and rack elevations using Visio
  • Documenting and tracking network devices
  • Producing high quality, timely, and accurate reports in Word or Excel
  • Ability to organize and facilitate planning and demonstrations
  • Ability to track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Writing effective procedural guidance


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with any of the following technologies:
  • A clear understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, SHTTP, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, EIGRP, OSPF, PPP, HDLC, V.35, RS-449 and knowledge of the 803.2, 802.3, 802.5, 802.10, 802.11, 802.3u and 802.3z communications, EIA/TIA cable standards and Internet standards.
  • Must address issues related to synchronous and asynchronous communications, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, or ISDN.
  • Desired experience with various OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers for troubleshooting.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen and hold an active TS/SCI clearance
  • Must be able to obtain DHS EOD suitability; an active EOD suitability is highly desired


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
