LTS is seeking a Mid-level Network Engineer to support the design, testing, implementation, and turnover of network communications systems for the Department of Defense in the US and abroad. The goal of this work is to improve overall network performance that enhances the network users experience with responsive computing resources. You will be part of a team that will plan, design, and evaluate new and existing computer network systems and services, including local area networks, wide area networks, intranets, and the Internet, providing analytical, technical, and administrative support. This includes network policies and procedures to ensure network integrity as part of maintenance and modification projects to existing network systems and applications.

This position is a hybrid role based in Montgomery, AL. Travel is required based on project requirements and can be up to 50%, CONUS and OCONUS.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Survey, install, configure, test, and integrate wired and wireless network and cryptographic equipment
into the Air Force Information Network.
• Develop an IPlan with Wire Run List, Network Configurations, List of Materials (LOM)/Price Proposal,
engineering (As-Built) drawings.
• Ensure all planned cable paths are reserved, tested, and marked and document site-specific
reservation procedures, test results, and marking examples in the site survey report.
• Install, ground, and secure new equipment in specified rack(s), equipment rack(s), or cabinet(s).
• Configure all equipment as described in the IPlan and Network Configurations, for example, install new
blades/cards, or the blades/cards taken from removed equipment/components, into new
equipment/components and place new equipment/components in their respective rack(s).
• Implement and maintain Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical
Implementation Guide (STIG).
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues that may arise.
• Ensure cable management and properly secure and label cable connections. k. As required, perform s
site acceptance testing IAW Government-approved Test Plan using Government-furnished network
analysis / test equipment and deliver results as a Test Report.
• Document any asset that will be disposed locally or transferred to another location and provide that
documentation to the customer and to the organization that owns/supports that asset.
• Coordinate disposition of waste and/or hazardous materials.
• Provide detailed Daily Status Reports (DSR) and the updated Cutover Schedule to all Government
stakeholders (i.e., Project Lead, Network Engineer, Chief Engineer, and Chief of Plans) site during
installations.

Requirements:
• HS Diploma and 5+ years’ experience with network monitoring and management using an automated
solution.
• Professional Level Networking Certification – CCNP/CCDP/JNCIS/JNCDS/similar) or Associate Level
Certification (i.e., JNCIA).
• 5+ years’ experience installing, configuring, and maintaining network equipment with thorough
knowledge of routers and switches.
• 5+ years of experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with applying and documenting DISA Security Technical
Implementation Guide (STIG)
• Must have a DoD Secret clearance.
• Must be certified at IAT Level II (e.g., CCNA, Security+, or other certification satisfying DoD 8570
certification requirements).
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong planning & organizational skills.
• Ability to sequence work activities to achieve required objective with minimal supervision.
• Ability to configure and deploy routers and switches.
• Highly analytical in problem-solving with the ability to apply original and innovative thinking.
• Ability to research subjects, with a commitment to provide continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of current network engineering methodologies, technologies,
services, and tools.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
