Responsibilities:

• Provide quality ASL-spoken English interpretation in a timely manner.
• Maintain adherence to the RID Code of Professional Conduct: CPC - Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (rid.org)
• Support managing the ASL interpreting schedule and reports to various customers
• Mentor and review work of novice interpreters
• Services will be rendered in a highly technical environment as part of a contract team supporting NAVSEA at the Washington Navy Yard.
• Support will be delivered as a mix of in-person and virtually, with potential for domestic and foreign travel.
• Looking for full-time or part-time

Requirements:

• BA/BS Degree in ASL Interpretation
• 5+ years experience as a currently RID Certified interpreter working in a fast paced, technical settings.
• Strong voicing skills
• Experience with solving difficult, complex ethical problems involving consideration of multiple issues and job areas
• US Citizen with Secret Security Clearance

Preferred:

• MA/MS Degree in ASL Interpretation
• 5+ years of working in a Business/Government setting with highly complex technical jargon
