Position Summary
The Lead Battle Simulations position is responsible for overseeing the Military Intelligence Battle Simulations Center at the United States Army Intelligence Center of Excellence (ICoE). The Lead will collaborate with exercise trainers to design, implement, and enhance realistic training scenarios, providing technical expertise and operational support throughout various training exercises. The Lead will collaborate closely with exercise trainers and teams to design and implement realistic battle scenarios, providing technical expertise and troubleshooting during exercises. Responsibilities also include maintaining compliance with established training environments, archiving exercise data, and delivering constructive feedback during after-action reviews. The Lead Battle Simulations is expected to engage with various stakeholders to continuously enhance simulation capabilities and training outcomes.

Security Clearance:
- Must be eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of Simulation Operations: Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all battlefield simulation systems within the ICoE's Military Intelligence Battle Simulations Center, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Training Exercise Support: Plan, execute, and evaluate training exercises that make use of simulation technologies to create realistic battlefield scenarios, including managing schedules and ensuring resource availability.
- Technical Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise in simulation technologies, advising on the integration of simulations into training programs and assisting exercise trainers in the development of training scenarios.
- System Compliance and Maintenance: Ensure that all simulation scenarios are compliant with the Decisive Action Training Environment (DATE) approved by TRADOC and maintain all associated documentation.
- Data Management: Archive all data generated during exercises and participate in after-action review meetings to provide insights and feedback for continuous improvement of exercise effectiveness.
- Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Identify and solve technical issues related to simulation systems during training events, ensuring minimal disruption to training activities.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with military trainers, exercise planners, and other stakeholders to align simulation capabilities with evolving training needs and objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with advancements in simulation technology and military training methodologies, implementing improvements to enhance training effectiveness and realism.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Significant experience (typically 5 years or more) in simulation technologies and military training environments.
- Proficiency in managing and maintaining simulation systems, particularly in areas related to military command and control.
- Strong knowledge of C4ISR systems and integration of simulation with operational training.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with team members and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with modern training methodologies and the ability to adapt simulations to meet evolving training needs.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges during simulations.
- 10 Years experience with Army Battle Simulations environments, specifically within the Training Operations Management Activity (TOMA) domain.
- Extensive experience with modern and legacy Army and Joint battle simulations systems, including Warfighter's Simulation (WARSIM), the WARSIM Intelligence Model (WIM), the Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS), the Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Tactical Proficiency Trainer (IEWTPT), the Multiple UAV Simulation Environment (MUSE), META-VR software, and Common Ground Station and JSTARS simulations, and their application in the training of Intelligence operations. Experience with the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC), and its federation of Live/Virtual/Constructive (LVC) simulations systems, and the Joint Training Environment (JTE).
- Familiarity with the Army's Decisive Action Training Environment (DATE) scenario, and its derivatives. Experience operating battle simulations systems on classified networks at the Secret and Top Secret/SCI levels.
- Extensive experience with High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulations Protocol Data Unit (DIS PDU) protocols and functionality.
- Extensive experience with military (ground forces) scenario development, friendly (US and Coalition) and enemy Order of Battle, and ingestion/digitization of scenarios into battle simulations systems. Experience delivering constructive battle simulations into the Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A).
Certifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline.
- May use four years of experience managing Army Battle Simulations environments in lieu of a Bachelor of Science degree.
- Associates Degree in a STEM discipline is non-waiverable.
- Must be certified at the IAT Level II IAW DoD instruction 8570.1M.
