Software Engineer

About the Role:
Aquila is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. The Software Engineer will be responsible for software porting (from old hardware running on Solaris to new hardware running on Linux), debugging, testing, integration, maintenance, and release management. The Software Engineer will also be responsible for close collaboration with the sponsor/user on operational site issues, requested capability enhancements, and testing support. Most of the work can be done from home, but occasional commute to the Lexington, MA is necessary for direct access to on-site test string hardware. Experience working with the Federal Aviation Administration is desired.

Clearance:
Candidates should have an active clearance (secret/top secret, etc.) in order to be considered for this position due to the nature of the work being done. Do not submit candidates if they do not meet this requirement.
Work Schedule:
This position is Part Time. This individual will be expected to work up to 32hrs a week. Final schedule TBD by hiring manager.
Work from Home:
This position is HYBRID. The individual will be required to be onsite 1-2 days a week. Candidates are expected to be local to Lexington, MA at the time of the start of the assignment. Final scheduled TBD by hiring manager.

- Must be a U.S Citizen - Authorized to Work in the US - Must have an Active Secret Clearance (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
- Must be within commutable distance of Lexington, Massachusetts.
