USmax Corporation is seeking aSecurity Systems Manager (SSM) to join our team. The Security Systems Manager reviews and designs Technical Security Upgrade (TSU) projects to ensure that proper standards have been planned to eliminate emanation vulnerabilities at facilities worldwide. The SSM works with customers and outside agencies to resolve design issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Security Systems Manager will provide reviews and technical security reports for project charter surveys, closeouts and small projects that highlight possible security vulnerabilities and make appropriate recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Participate in teams to assist with conducting project surveys and closeouts for compliance with applicable Diplomatic Security and Overseas Security Policy Board (OSPB) standards at USAID Missions worldwide.
  • The SSM will mentor and guide Technical Security Specialists through all phases of Technical and Physical Security upgrade projects. This includes but is not limited to: Project Design, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Material Take Off (MTO), Project Scope of Work (SOW), Project Logistics and report writing.
  • Manages the design of Technical Security System (TSS) projects to include, but not limited to alarms, access control systems, locks, vehicle arrest systems, security video systems, computer networking equipment, and Forced Entry Ballistic Resistant doors and windows.
  • Responsible for leading project briefings, clearance and approval of project deliverables to the customer stakeholders.
  • Interaction with groups and individuals outside their own organization and/or agency and participate in interagency working groups

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering is preferred. Or have an appropriate combination of education and experience as an electrical tradesman or in a similar area of study.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret building codes, blueprints and specifications, foreign and domestic construction methods, and other construction documents
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, Department of State (DoS), Diplomatic Security (DS) and guidelines and standards, operating systems, hardware platforms, software, and networks, and Overseas Security Policy Board (OSPB) technical and physical security standards, agency requirements and regulations.
  • Must possess strong technical and report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of acoustics and radio frequency fundamentals is desired but not required.
  • Auto CAD Training I and II certifications
  • Must have and maintain a valid U.S Passport.

Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to physically stand, kneel, and bend for long periods of time and can climb ladders with dexterity in the hands.
  • Must be able to lift a 50-pound item to waist height and must be able to lift a 30-pound item over the head.
  • Must have 20/20 vision with corrective lens if necessary.
  • Must have acceptable color vision and have acceptable depth perception.
  • Must be physically able to travel to and operate in potentially dangerous, overseas environments.
  • Must have the ability to hear normal conversation, alarm, and warning signals with corrective devices if necessary.

Required Experience:

  • At least five (5) years' experience in construction, maintenance, and facility management is required
  • At least five (5) years' Project Management experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (Preferred)

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma
  • Certification/Coursework related to electrical tradesman or in a similar area of study
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering (preferred)

Security Clearance Requirements:

Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.

Work Location / Schedule:

  • When not deployed, this position requires a minimum of 3 days per week on site at the client location in Springfield, VA. Telework is generally authorized for 2 days per week.

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires international travel, on a short-term TDY basis.
