Job Title: Security Technical Specialist
USmax Corporation is seeking aSecurity Technical Specialist (STS) to join our team. This role provides technical security support to include installation, troubleshooting, repair, and design of Technical, Electronic, and Physical security systems (TSS/ESS/PSS) and must be able to interpret schematics/blueprints and operation manuals; and install, test, and troubleshoot a variety of TSS/ESS/PSS equipment customer locations worldwide. The Security Technical Specialist aids in the planning, designing, development, and implementation of TSS related projects.

The Security Technical Specialist aids in the planning, designing, development, and implementation of TSS related projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and troubleshoot a variety of TSS/ESS equipment for systems such as:
- Closed Circuit Television Systems (CCTV) - analog and/or IP.
- Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
- Access Control Systems (ACS).
- Duress alarms.
- Emergency and Mass Notification Systems (ENS/IDNS).
- Forced Entry/Ballistic Resistant (FE/BR) doors and windows.
- Walk-through metal detectors, X-ray machines, and explosive trace detection systems.
- Security Management System enterprise (SMSe).
- Active/passive anti-ram barrier and bollard systems.
- Two-way radio communication equipment: to include hand-held radios, mobile radios, base stations, and repeaters, such as Kenwood, Motorola, and Codan.
- Low Voltage Electrical Systems.
- Lock and Leave equipment.
- Assist with oversight and engineering support to include the execution and inspection of OCONUS technical and physical security system upgrade projects.
- Assist the Security Systems Manager in the preparation of design documents to include Scope of Works (SOW), AutoCAD or Visio Concept design drawings to meet project timeline deliverables.
- Assists with Pre-project Survey Report (PSR), Weekly Project Security Engineering Reports, Security Installation Reports (SIR), and with Material Take Off (MTO).
- Assists in the development of the Scope of Work (SOW) for project-related work to be accomplished by local contractors.
- Assists with project oversight for Installation, troubleshooting, repair, and design of Technical or Electronic security systems (TSS/ESS) and security communications equipment.
- Operates a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and multimeters pull and terminate low voltage signal and network cables Install, fusion-splice, and terminate fiber optic cable Read and understand installation, and manufacturers' literature for electrical and electronic components.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with electronics (repair, installation, maintenance).
- Experience with High and/or low voltage electrical systems.
- Experience with technical security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control, etc.).
- Knowledge and experience with security and life safety systems.
- Knowledge in safety and security principles.
- Knowledge of welding (preferred, not required).
- Must have and maintain a valid U.S Passport.
Physical Requirements:
- You must be able to physically stand, kneel, and bend for long periods of time and can climb ladders with dexterity in your hands.
- Must be able to lift a 50-pound item to waist height and must be able to lift a 30-pound item over the head.
- Must have 20/20 vision with corrective lens if necessary.
- Must have acceptable color vision and have acceptable depth perception.
- Must be physically able to travel to and operate in potentially dangerous, overseas environments.
- Must have the ability to hear normal conversation, alarm, and warning signals with corrective devices if necessary.
Required Experience:
- Minimum three years of general technical security and security communication equipment experience.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
Work Location / Schedule:
- When not deployed, this position requires a minimum of 3 days per week on site at the client location in Springfield, VA. Telework is generally authorized for 2 days per week.
Travel Requirements:
- This position requires international travel, on a short-term TDY basis.
