Mechanical/Electrical, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (AC&R)

This position is not currently funded and is contingent upon funding to Amentum. At this time, Amentum is seeking candidates to fulfill contingent roles. The expected award timeframe is Fall 2025.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Engineering Technician (Mechanical/Electrical, AC&R) to join our team in Bahrain. This position involves maintaining, installing, testing, and repairing various U.S. Navy shipboard systems, with a focus on air conditioning and refrigeration (AC&R) systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise and leadership experience in working with complex mechanical and electrical systems aboard Navy vessels.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, installation, testing, and repair of U.S. Navy ship systems, including:
  
  • Air conditioning and refrigeration (AC&R) systems.
  • Chlorinators/brominators and programmable logic controllers.
  • High-Pressure Air System, Low-Pressure Air System, and Chilled Water System.
  • Electronics Cooling systems, Sonar Dome Pressurization System, and Dry Air Systems.
  • Associated equipment and motor controllers.
• Lead maintenance and repair activities for the above systems, ensuring adherence to Navy standards and requirements.
• Provide hands-on technical support to ensure operational readiness and functionality of assigned systems.
• Work collaboratively with other technicians and engineers to resolve system issues and maintain optimal performance.

Minimum Requirements:

• Within the last ten (10) years, a minimum of four (4) years of full-time, hands-on technical experience in the maintenance, installation, testing, or repair of U.S. Navy ship systems listed above.
• At least two (2) years of full-time technician experience leading maintenance, installation, testing, or repair of these systems.
• Certified to work on shipboard air conditioning and refrigeration (AC&R) systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems on U.S. Navy ships.
• Proficiency with programmable logic controllers and motor controllers.
• Experience with both high-pressure and low-pressure air systems and associated components.
• Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Additional certifications or advanced training related to shipboard mechanical and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with U.S. Navy maintenance protocols and standards.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in managing technical teams and complex maintenance tasks.
