Vistra is seeking a Staff Accountant to support general accounting, project accounting, contract management, and HR functions. Responsibilities will require collaboration with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.

Knowledge of Accounting software; the Internet; Payroll systems; Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Proficient) and Microsoft Word (Intermediate).

Vistra is seeking a Staff Accountant to support general accounting, project accounting, contract management, and HR functions. Responsibilities will require collaboration with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist with accounts payable process including vendor invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, and/or 1099s.
- Assist with accounts receivable process including project billing and managing collections process.
- Perform project data entry from creating new projects to close out within ERP system
- Review timesheets to ensure labor costs calculate properly; assist with processing payroll semi-monthly.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end account reconciliations with supporting schedules.
- Prepare and record adjusting journal entries as part of the month-end process.
- Calculate and report items such as sales tax and special compensation payments.
- Monitor and train team members on government regulated travel, expense reporting and timekeeping using cloud-based systems.
- Develop and follow internal controls and process efficiencies.
- Assist with audits, contract pricing and service contract (SCLS) management.
- Assist with benefits administration and reconciliations.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and processes
- Ability to prioritize and meet a constant stream of deadlines.
- Must be highly skilled in use of Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of accounting software programs and ability to learn new software programs.
- Intellectual curiosity and analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business from an accredited college or university, is required.
- 2+ years' experience in accounting, is required.
- Experience in project accounting and/or benefits administration is preferred.
- None required.
