Position Responsibilities:
- Maintains a strong awareness of technical trends in information technology.
- Develops and maintains a strong awareness of on-going IT projects, and business unit requirements.
- Develops end-to-end cost analysis for projects; ensure systems being developed comply with the enterprise technical architecture.
- Provide operations and maintenance of applications in the cloud infrastructure.
- Support Sponsor's representatives in cloud environment purchase, engineering, and architecture related activities as applicable to applications.
- Assist the Sponsor's product owner with mitigating or avoiding risks.
- Deliver development requirements as requested by the Sponsor.
- Use a Sponsor-approved tracking system for issues and problems.
- Create and maintain an automated test environment in the Sponsor's AWS environment using technologies such as Selenium or comparable testing tools.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Technical and Security Issue Resolution: Proven ability to identify technical and/or security abnormalities and provide documented responses and resolutions.
- Technical Requirements Management: Experience supporting the management and execution of technical requirements throughout system lifecycles.
- Problem Management: Expertise in conducting complex problem management research and resolving issues related to the infrastructure in collaboration with sponsors.
- Operating Systems: Strong experience with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS (OSX).
- Hypervisors: Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V, ESX, and VirtualBox.
- Networking and Cisco OS: Proficient with Cisco OS (iOS, NexusOS) and general network infrastructure.
- Windows Management: Experience managing Windows-based environments, including Active Directory, System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), and Virtual Machine Manager (VMM).
- Networking: Experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting LAN and WAN infrastructures.
- Backup Solutions: Experience with enterprise-level backup solutions such as Microsoft DPM and ArcServe Backup Suite.
- Storage Area Networks (SAN): In-depth experience with SAN design, provisioning, capacity planning, and ongoing maintenance.
- Virtual Machine Migration: Expertise in designing, engineering, and migrating Hyper-V virtual machines from Windows Server 2008 to 2012 R2 cluster environments.
- Network Design & Disaster Recovery: Proven experience designing LAN/WAN networks, backup systems, and disaster recovery (DR) architectures.
- Hardware/Software Evaluation: Experience evaluating hardware and software products against customer requirements to guide technical evaluations and procurements.
- COTS/GOTS Applications: Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) applications.
- Network Monitoring: Experience working with network monitoring appliances to ensure the integrity and security of network infrastructures.
- Task Automation: Experience automating administrative tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
- IT System Security: Demonstrated experience in securing IT systems, including understanding security protocols and best practices.
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in shell scripting for task automation, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
- Database Management: Experience with SQL Server, and familiarity with Oracle 10g/11g and MySQL databases.
- Microsoft Windows Systems: Experience with various versions of Microsoft Windows (7, 8, 10, Server 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016).
- System Center Management: Familiarity with System Center and related management tools for infrastructure management and monitoring.
- Storage Solutions: Hands-on experience with storage systems, including NetApp and HP solutions.
- VMware ESX: Experience with VMware ESX and related virtualization technologies.
- Forensic Software: Knowledge of various types of forensic software and methodologies.
- HP Servers & Blade Chassis: Experience with HP Servers and HP Blade Chassis hardware for enterprise environments.
- Technical Recommendations: Experience providing recommendations on technical standards, security policies, and operational assurance.
- Architecture & Design Reviews: Ability to contribute recommendations during architecture and design reviews for new systems or upgrades.
- Vendor & Third-Party Collaboration: Proven experience interfacing with vendors and third-party producers to assess, procure, and implement IT solutions.
- Forensic Workstation Configuration: Experience building, configuring, and troubleshooting customized forensic workstations for investigative purposes.
