Systems Engineer

BlueHalo is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support the Director of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Enterprise Engineering. This individual will play a key role in providing technical assistance, contributing to design reviews, establishing architecture standards, and managing Enterprise Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), all while ensuring the synchronization of M&S activities across the Agency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform analytical duties to elicit stakeholder requirements and mission needs
• Define system requirements and conduct functional analysis utilizing Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques
• Draft, review, and finalize technical documentation related to M&S efforts
• Support technical reviews and ensure compliance with design standards
• Facilitate M&S and digital engineering transformation initiatives across the organization
• Represent the Enterprise Engineering team in agency-wide tiger teams and working groups

Required Qualifications:

• BS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
• 7+ years of relevant professional experience in systems engineering or a related discipline
• Active Secret clearance
• Hands-on experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, including use of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and other modeling languages (e.g., UML, DoDAF)
• Proficiency with MBSE tools like IBM Rhapsody and integrated requirements management tools such as DOORS Next Generation (NG)
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with MBSE processes and tools, particularly IBM Harmony

Desired Qualifications:

• MS in a related field
• MBSE certifications and training (e.g., OMG, INCOSE)
• Experience in the Ballistic Missile Defense System (MDS) domain, particularly with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)
• Expertise in M&S for the MDS, including components like Patriot, THAAD, GMD, Sensors, and C2
• Familiarity with MDA test events and M&S products supporting these activities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with geographically diverse teams of engineers from varied technical backgrounds
• Energetic, motivated self-starter with a strong desire to drive innovation in M&S and digital engineering
