Job Description:
- Create and manage database system user accounts.
- Generate and analyze U.S. Navy equipment inventory and allowance data.
- Develop, implement and maintain database system metrics.
- Provide data query and report generation support for customers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database system/data discrepancies in collaboration and communication with database developers.
- Maintain the database system user guide.
- Monitor and manage database performance and availability, including management of incidents or problems.
- Track and monitor progress of implementing approved database changes/enhancements. Assist developers in defining, testing and promulgating database changes.
- Generate documentation and communicate system changes and usage data to management and the customer.
- Provide periodic briefings to management on database performance and status of pending database changes.

- ORBIS is seeking a Database Manager to work on site at the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station (Yorktown, VA) in support of our RADIAC and RADCON Professional Services Contract, providing lifecycle support for radiation detection equipment. The database to be managed is currently a tailored version of the CMPRO Product Lifecycle Management Software, hosted and maintained by PSA Inc. providing configuration management, inventory management and repair tracking for the U. S. Navy's radiation detection equipment inventory and related data. Responsibilities include:

- US citizenship is required. Additionally, applicant must be willing to travel occasionally to customer and database host locations throughout the US.
- Applicant must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills. Three years experience managing a Web-based database system. Strong computer, hardware, software, and analytical skills.

Degree Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or information technology
- An active secret security clearance
