Job Description:
This position will serve as a Cybersecurity Specialist based out of Stuttgart at Kelley Barracks in support of USAFRICOM on the Enterprise-Level IT Expertise (ELITE) Contract.
Job Responsibilities:
● Integrate COTS and GOTS products to collect, display, and remediate a variety of
automated system security and system operations/performance functions and metrics.
● Perform security assessments of various network assets. Develop improvements to security assessments with regard to accuracy and efficiency.
● Write and execute cybersecurity test procedures for validation of control compliance.
● Monitor/analyze output of cybersecurity tools for reportable security incidents and residual risk.
● Analyze technical risk of emerging cybersecurity tools and processes.
● Integrate/Develop new techniques to improve Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability for networks/systems operating at various classification levels.
● Conduct vulnerability assessments and system scans to identify weaknesses in networks, applications, and security configurations.
● Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures in compliance with DoD security frameworks such as RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and DISA STIGs.
● Perform security audits and assessments of IT infrastructure to ensure adherence to security standards and DoD requirements.
● Ensure compliance with DoD regulations and directives (e.g., DoDI 8500.01, NIST SP 800-53, RMF) and assist in preparing for cybersecurity inspections and assessments.
● Review and ensure security documentation is complete, including system security plans, risk assessments, and security assessment reports.
● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policy changes and help ensure the organization stays aligned with updated directives and standards.
● Assist with the preparation and submission of cybersecurity artifacts and documentation for ATO (Authorization to Operate) processes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
● Bachelor’s Degree plus 3 years recent specialized experience, or
● Associate’s Degree plus 7 years recent specialized experience, or
● Major certification and 7 years recent specialized experience or
● 11 years of recent specialized experience
● At least 3 years of HBSS/ESS experience
● Knowledge of DoD IT RMF, USCYBERCOM, and JFHQ-DoDIN
● Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Certification Requirements:
● Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
● Azure Fundamentals or higher
● Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
● Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Windows Server 2016/2019
● Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) SQL 2016 Database Admin
● Proficiency with Microsoft SCCM and/or other automatic reporting tool
● Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs
● Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
● Experience with Department of Defense IT security requirements
● Experience managing asset accuracy to Critical Success Factors (CSF)
Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) Requirements:
Candidates MUST be eligible for Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) awarded via the
Defense Overseas Contractor Personnel (DOCPER) office. Education requirements for TESA
approval include:
● A Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, or
● An Associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, or
● A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, or
● 11 years of recent, relevant, and specialized experience
