Responsibilities
Major Job Activities:
- Provide telecommunications strategic DSN support.
- Design, install, decommission, operate, maintain, administer and install telecommunications (strategic DSN) equipment.
- Ensure O&M support is performed in accordance with SPIN-C, DOD and USAF policies and procedures.
- Administer and manage telephone switch, associated equipment, integrated voice mail systems, remote switching systems, optical carrier systems, rectifiers and rectifier battery systems, inverters, power supplies, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and other telephone sub-systems.
- Support equipment installation, placement, or relocation, including system checkout, test, and maintenance.
- Perform work in accordance with DoD, USAF, telephone switch manufacturers, manufacturers of system components and generally accepted telecommunications industry standards and practices.
- Provide reach-back and logistic support.
- Provide repair, return, and replacement.

Working Environment:
- Working environment is a climate-controlled facility. Outdoor temperatures may exceed temperatures of 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May require support during periods of non-traditional working hours including nights or weekends.

Qualifications
Education / Certifications:
- U.S. Citizen
- Active Secret Tier 3 Security Clearance
- High School Diploma or GED; AND
- IAT-II Level Certification; AND
- Switch Notification on Nortel SL-100 or Meridian I/Succession 1000 family of switches; AND/OR
- Completed Avaya Professional Credential Program; AND
Experience / Skills:
- Lead-level, supervisory and practical experience in: shop practices; installation, repair, troubleshooting or maintenance of telecommunications systems or equipment; solving complex problems, understanding the interrelationships of circuits and ability to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of communications systems or equipment; AND
- Expert experience in maintaining/troubleshooting telecommunications equipment: Nortel SL-100; Meridian I / Succession 1000 Family of Switches; AVAYA AURA AS-5300; Voice Over Internet Protocol Equipment (Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unified Voice Gateway and Cisco Analog Voice Gateways).
