Systems Engineer

This individual will play a pivotal role in developing innovative and effective solutions for our DoD customers within the IC sector.

Role Overview:The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, testing, and deploying new Voice infrastructure while implementing next-generation voice system technology. This role will include system upgrades, security accreditation processes, and ongoing engineering support in an enterprise IT environment. Collaboration with network and telecom teams is essential to ensure the seamless integration of secure communication devices and call center technologies.

Primary Duties:

• Design, test, and deploy new Voice infrastructure.
• Implement next-generation voice system technology (1st article voice engineering).
• Participate in the security accreditation process for all systems.
• Perform certificate management for all systems.
• Execute system upgrades and patching for hardware and software.
• Provide voice system engineering for new site standups.
• Deliver Tier 4 engineering support for all Voice systems.
• Design, test, and deploy call center technology, including user training and transition plans.
• Perform tasks associated with call routing and trunking within assigned platforms.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with standards, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with network engineering and telecom engineers for integration activities.
• Work in an enterprise IT environment with voice system-related tasks.
• Provide hands-on support with secure communication devices (e.g., VoIP phones, STEs, Viper) and infrastructure components (e.g., PBXs, encryption devices, conference bridges, call management servers).
• Participate in client and internal department meetings to gather and define system requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 11 years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in:
  • SIP signaling and call flows
  • Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP)
  • SIP, MGCP, TCP/IP, H.323, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, RTP
• Experience with Skype for Business, Avaya Communication Manager, and call center technology design.

Desired Qualifications

• MCSE certification
• A+ certification
• Network+ certification
• Additional certifications such as:
  • CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, CCIE, HP, MCSE, CCVP, CCDP, CATE, R&S
  • Cisco Voice certifications
  • Juniper certifications

Certifications:

• MCSE, A+, Network+ certifications preferred.
• Relevant Cisco, Juniper, or ITIL certifications are a plus.
