Consulting Services Group (CSG) seeks a Procurement Specialist to join our corporate team in Herndon, VA. The Procurement Specialist will oversee and coordinate routine to complex purchasing of finished products, materials and services. The position will also support planning, implementation, operation, and performance of logistic functions. Responsibilities include strategizing to find cost-effective suppliers and discover opportunities to minimize procurement expenses.

One of the most critical aspects of this position is to understand and assist CSG program manager(s) in the execution of unique procurement requirements called for under CSG prime federal contracts. In addition, there are internal CSG purchasing requirements with financial tradecraft parameters.

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

Researching products, equipment, and services to ensure they are practical, cost-effective, and available.
Coordinate with technical stakeholders for identifying potential vendors/sources and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
Preparing specifications for formal bids and purchase orders.
Creating and maintaining a database of suppliers, delivery times, invoices, and quantity of supplies.
Provide summarized analysis to resolve grievances and claims.
Reviewing purchase requisitions to ensure they comply with contractual terms and specifications, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and trade practices.
Tracking incoming inventory and delivery arrival times. They may assist inventory inspections.
Manage and monitor the flow of goods and services from suppliers to customers.
Manage inventory levels and ensure accuracy of records.
Preparing reports and reordering supplies and stock.
Coordinating actions from initial procurement request through delivery with respective program, project managers and/or stakeholders.
Providing insight to corporate finance for upcoming expenditures and analysis.
Manage and provide analysis for competitive cost.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information eligibility security clearance.
Proven work experience as a Procurement Specialist with knowledge of sourcing techniques.
Highly motivated with good organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Ability to operate independently and in a team environment to communicate effectively.
Understanding of inventory management and forecasting.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Minimum five years of procurement experience in the federal market space.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience/

Desired Qualifications:

Active security clearance highly desired.

Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an office environment, requiring the use of computer terminals and standard office equipment to accomplish work objectives.

Job location: Onsite at CSG company office in Herndon, VA, remote telework is not available.

Travel

Some travel may be required but limited to a few times a year and no more than 3-5 days in duration.
