Seeking a Database Administrator to provide oversight and assurance of database performance, integrity, and system stability for Department of Defense enterprise business systems. Environment includes a mix of Azure SQL and Oracle 19c databases in test and production environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure database performance, integrity, stability, and security through regular configuration validation, monitoring, and other routine maintenance activities
• Ensure the Oracle 19c database environment stays up to date with required hotfixes, and security updates (Critical Patch Updates)
• Complete DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) reviews and ensure compliance with requirements established in the STIGs for Azure SQL and Oracle databases
• Enforce database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management, adhere to DoD guidelines
• Optimize database performance by monitoring, tuning, and proactive resource management
• Ensure all database platforms are properly backed up and restoration procedures are documented and routinely tested
• Support contingency planning efforts to ensure system availability
• Works cross-functionally with various operational teams to address performance or stability issues within the systems
• Manage multiple tasks and priorities with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Works closely with developers, system administrators, and business users to effectively collaborate and build strong relationships

Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in database administration for Azure SQL and Oracle 19c databases
• 3+ years of experience working with Department of Defense enterprise application databases in the Microsoft Azure Government cloud, including both Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments
• 3+ years of experience conducting Department of Defense STIG and RMF compliance reviews in an Azure Government Cloud environment
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud logging and monitoring tools including Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, and Kusto Query Language (KSQL)
• High proficiency in SQL tuning, including writing and optimizing T-SQL and PL/SQL queries to support efficient database operations in Azure SQL and Oracle 19c database environments
• Strong experience in advanced RMAN backup and restore processes, including incremental backups, sectioning, and monitoring/analyzing RMAN performance and logs
• Ability to write highly technical correspondence within professional etiquette standards
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, or Cybersecurity
• CompTIA Security+ certification
• Azure certification (Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate preferred)
• DoD Secret clearance
