Job Description: GridIron IT is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer with an Active Secret Clearance. In this role you will support an extensive digital modernization program critical to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Department of Defense (DoD).
Primary Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain virtual desktop infrastructures within the Azure IL5 and IL6 cloud and connectivity with DoD Fourth Estate Agency environments
Support the development and maintenance of privileged access workstations (PAW)
Manage VDI resource pools within the Azure IL5 and IL6 environments
Create custom virtual desktop images for each DoD agency
Monitor and mitigate issues within the VDI infrastructure, working closely with Tier 1-2 service desk personnel
Identify opportunities for improvement, including innovations within the VDI domain, aimed at improving the user experience, improving efficiencies through repeatable offerings, and lower sustainment costs
Adhere to security best practices and guidelines, leveraging your knowledge of security policies, network security, and data security
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s degree with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Demonstrated experience designing, building and maintaining VDI environments as such as Azure Virtual Desktop, VMware Horizon, Amazon Workspace, Citrix or other platforms
Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMA
Ability to work effectively within a distributed technical team, aided by strong written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence
Current IAT Level II (or higher) Certification such as Security + or CISSP
Preferred Qualifications
Experience delivering VDI solutions for U.S. Government customers
Recognized certification such as Microsoft Certified Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty, VMware Certified Professional – End-User Computing
Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: 115,000-140,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
