Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for whole lifecycle of designs from proposals, requirement definition, coding, simulation, synthesis, place and route, verification testing, and system support.
  • Work with a multi-disciplined design team (electrical engineers, systems engineers, scientists, etc.) to design, develop, simulate, and integrate challenging DSP FPGA designs and RF sensor systems based on given project requirements.
  • Work to with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms and their implementation in MATLAB and FPGAs in support of a fast paced, multi-disciplinary design team.
  • Development and optimization of firmware for FPGAs, running advanced algorithms in firmware for real-time data processing
  • Design and Optimization of processing and firmware architectures
  • Write and optimize HDL code for FPGAs
  • Technical leadership of FPGA development teams including task assignment, schedule inputs and status reporting
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance including mentoring and coaching team members

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • At least eight (8+) years FPGA design experience on Digital Signal Processing designs.
  • Experience in either VHDL (preferred) or Verilog development languages.
  • Experience implementing complex modem and/or DSP circuits in programmable logic using FPGA devices.
  • Equivalent experience in ASIC design is also applicable.
  • Experience in simulation, synthesis, and placement software tools such as ModelSim, Synplicity, Xilinx Vivado / ISE and/or Altera Quartus development tool sets.
  • Applicant Must have an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance, with SCI access
  • Strong understanding and ability to troubleshoot RF processing chains, digital signal processing, communication systems, SDRs, and embedded hardware.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective team player with highly proficient customer service skills.
  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is $150,000 to $190,000 annually. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

  • Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
  • Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.
  • Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).
  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, and may occasionally lift and move at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel by car, air or other means of transportation, if required.
