TITLE: Tactical Control System Subject Matter Expert with ACTIVE Secret clearance
CLEARANCE: Active Secret
LOCATION: Manassas VA 20110 OR Fairfax VA 22033
RATE RANGE: $45/hr--$55/hr W2 (no health benefits while on contract)
SCHEDULE: 9/80 (every other Friday off)
Currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven Tactical Control System Subject Matter Expert (U.S. Navy Submarine FT) to join our dynamic teams in Manassas, VA. The team is responsible for the test, evaluation, and design verification of the system under development. Additionally, the team ensures functional and technical specifications and standards are met, as well as investigate software and hardware interface problems. Responsibilities include developing, modifying, and executing test plans, test procedures, and test reports, as well as assembly and standup of computer equipment. While this position will mostly have regular business hours, some overtime hours and travel may be required.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Defining, reviewing and analyzing system requirements for enhancements/modifications for supportability
Providing input to project/program plans and deliverables
Lead the review, development and modification of procedures and products for one or more ILS functions
Analyze current requirements documentation to develop methods and descriptions for validating requirements through test and other means
Participate in various technical and program meetings on a weekly basis
Communicate project/program issues to management, as necessary
Mentor other team members
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's of Science or Technology degree, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Navy experience as a Submarine Fire Control Technician (FT) or similar (ST, ET, or IT) is required.
5+ years of experience with AN/BYG-1 combat system is required
Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields
Proficient understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, practices, and standards
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Requires a Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience). Requires an additional 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of job-related experience.
