Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Engineer to support the development, delivery, and sustainment of the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) Enterprise Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) Solution (EOS). The QA Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with program quality standards, driving continuous improvement, and supporting successful program execution. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in quality assurance for DoD aerospace programs and a passion for delivering mission-critical systems.

Please note, this position is contingent upon successful capture of the EOS contract.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance Activities:
    • Implement quality assurance processes and procedures aligned with program requirements, including AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards
    • Conduct inspections, audits, and assessments to ensure compliance with technical and quality requirements
    • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for identified issues
  • Requirements Compliance:
    • Collaborate with systems engineering, integration, and test teams to verify that all system components meet quality specifications
    • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of requirements throughout the program lifecycle
    • Review and approve quality-related documentation, including test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Supplier Quality Oversight:
    • Work with procurement teams to ensure supplier and subcontractor quality requirements are clearly defined and met
    • Conduct supplier quality audits and evaluate incoming materials and components for compliance
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in quality management
    • Track and report quality metrics, such as defect rates and audit findings, to drive program performance improvements
  • Collaboration:
    • Interface with program management, engineering, and customer representatives to address quality-related concerns and ensure alignment on program goals
    • Participate in program milestone reviews (e.g., PDR, CDR) to ensure quality objectives are met
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of exemplary performance on DoD programs
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) and quality assurance tools
  • Experience with inspections, audits, and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Familiarity with Agile development, systems integration, and lifecycle testing
  • Proficiency in quality tools and software (e.g., TipQA, Windchill, or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green Belt)
  • Experience working with DoD acquisition processes and MIL-STD requirements
  • Experience in the Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) mission area
Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in quality management, engineering, or a related discipline

Clearance Requirement

Active DoD Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
