A Subject Matter Expert/Consultant provides specialized knowledge and guidance in a specific domain, helping organizations solve complex problems and make informed decisions. They analyze business needs, develop strategies, and offer recommendations based on industry best practices. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, conducting research, and delivering presentations to ensure that projects align with organizational goals and standards. The expert serves as a trusted advisor, leveraging their deep understanding of the subject to drive successful outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Subject Matter Expert/Consultant: $110K
  • Pay commensurate with experience.
  • Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Subject Matter Expert/Consultant Responsibilities Include:
  • Design and implement security/cybersecurity controls to meet organizational requirements and budget constraints.
  • Define, document, and update security/cybersecurity architecture, controls, and best practices.
  • Research and assess new security technologies for potential integration into the existing architecture.
  • Select new security technologies and controls to align with evolving business priorities and regulatory requirements.
  • Build, validate, and oversee the implementation of security technologies, ensuring systems, processes, and personnel effectively minimize security risks.
  • Regularly review new business and regulatory requirements with the Chief Information Security Officer to optimize security technology and practices.
  • Revise organization-wide security architecture, controls, and best practices as needed.
  • Analyze emerging technologies to ensure their safe and secure deployment within the organization.
  • Create, validate, update, and communicate the organization's security/cybersecurity architecture to engineering teams.
  • Oversee or manage the implementation of security controls and systems by engineers, technicians, and administrators.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Subject Matter Expert/Consultant Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Relevant bachelor's degree
  • 7 years in a related field; recognized for industry or subject achievements and technical expertise. Experience includes solution development and application, software architecture, and cloud. PMP or FAC-P/PM certificate (or analogous relevant to functional role).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven expertise in relevant tools, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management and strategic planning.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
