Description

SAIC is seeking a Ground System Engineer to work in a Space Program Office. This program procures satellite vehicles with associated ground segments. To qualify for this role, you should be familiar with ground segment acquisitions and related operations & maintenance (O&M) of those systems. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph and is located in El Segundo CA.

In this role you will provide direct support for the program's ground team. The ground segment consists of ground command and control (C2) software and hardware, and includes Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) and networks.

Responsibilities include:
  • Systems engineering support for requirements development, design, test plans, and requirements verifications through acceptance testing from developers.
  • Coordination across geographic diverse sites for delivery and acceptance testing; requires travel to these sites as well as to developer sites.
  • Test support for integrated hardware and software solutions to multiple locations.
  • Support to risk management processes and adjudicating program risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordination with facilities' teams during site surveys, installation, and for long-term facilities maintenance of IT equipment and specialized hardware.
  • Support to request for change (RFC) processes.
  • Review and analysis of technical proposals.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience. Note: Additional years professional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.
  • Familiarity with ground segment acquisitions and related operations & maintenance (O&M) of those systems.
  • Ability to deliver systems in accordance with detail site integration standards.
  • Understanding of government acquisition processes.
  • Experience with network architecture applications.
  • Experience with DevSecOps.
  • CSEP and/or PMP certification.

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
