Solidus is searching for an Aeronautical/Aerospace Support Engineer.
This role is 100% on-site in a secure facilityat Wright Patterson AFB, OH.
Day in the life:
- As a member of the Advanced Battle Management Consortium (ABMS) consortium, your teamseeks to provide hardware, software, and DevSecOps integration processes to evolve the capabilities of legacy and future aircraft through battle network connectivity, enhanced on-aircraft mission computing, and ultimately, the infrastructure for enabling real-time software updates so that platforms can rapidly adapt their flight and collaborative mission autonomy tactical behaviors as a mission's goals, environments, and threats evolve.
-Responsible for Software Engineering in numerous aspects and will partly be responsible as design, implementation, integration, and verification support for collaborating systems engineers, focusing on planning of software development efforts, managing and tracking software personnel, software and systems level analyses, participating in design reviews, decomposition and management of software requirements, and leadership/mentorship of more junior software engineers.
- Working in cooperation with several other companies, all collaboratively working towards successful developments, integrations, and demonstrations of thetechnology.
What you will bring to the role (required):
- US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI
-Bachelor's degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and8 years experience
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a approximately of 5 years of prior relevant experience
-Demonstrated software engineering experience with aerospace systems, having performed requirements development, decomposition, software implementation, and associated integration and verification processes
-Demonstrates empathy, curiosity, and desire to constantly improve
- Showcases excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work well with others in a professional team environment andhasthe ability to balancing priorities and schedules
Preferred:
-Experience managing software development plans and leading (as well as mentoring) software engineering personnel
- Experience with cybersecurity and vulnerability scanning, ideally with software on the DoD and DAF Approved Product List
-Experience with DOD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Processes (DIACAP)
-Background in risk/opportunity management
-Background in obsolescence engineering
-Demonstrates the ability to think both tactically and strategically when solving problems
-Has experience working effectively in highly collaborative environments and a demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and technical efforts spanning multiple stakeholders
