JOB TITLE: MATERIAL CONTROL SUPERVISOR

DEPARTMENT: SUPPLY CHAIN

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF SUPPLY CHAIN

CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT

JOB SUMMARY:

Platform Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Material Control Supervisor. The Material Control Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision and leadership within in a production environment, overseeing multiple functions of production including material receipt, material kitting, outbound shipments, planning, coordination, and execution of Material Control procedures, while continuously improving the storage, control, and distribution of materials & products according to company needs and customer requirements.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide daily supervision and work prioritization for Material Control team members within the context of all departmental operational activities.
  • Supervise shipping, receiving, materials storage & distribution, and accurate inventory control.
  • Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
  • Maintains and ensures accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
  • Works with purchasing department to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Oversees shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.
  • Manages and monitors storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
  • Performs write-offs on damaged or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory.
  • Establishes procedures for conducting and valuing year-end physical inventory.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

DESIRED QUALIFICATONS:
  • Previous management experience and knowledge of DFAR requirements
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.
  • Proficient with inventory reporting systems.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite and/or similar software.


BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • Five years of experience in material control field or a combination of education and experience equivalent to 7 years.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
  • Available to work after normal work hours if needed (late evening and on weekends)
  • Driver's license required for movement of material between main facility and local warehouse.
  • Must be willing to train for and perform forklift operation.
  • Recurring FOD training and awareness, upon hire and annually.
  • Recurring counterfeit prevention training and awareness, upon hire and annually.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to obtain a DOT physical.
