Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled CM/DM Lead to manage and oversee configuration and data management efforts for the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) Enterprise OPIR Solution (EOS) contract. This role will ensure the integrity, traceability, and availability of program data and configuration baselines throughout the program lifecycle. The CM/DM Lead will play a critical role in establishing and enforcing CM/DM policies, coordinating with engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with DoD standards and program requirements.

Please note: this position is contingent upon successful capture of the FORGE EOS contract.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Configuration Management Leadership:
    • Develop and maintain the program's Configuration Management Plan (CMP) and associated processes to ensure compliance with DoD and program-specific standards
    • Establish and manage configuration control baselines for hardware, software, and documentation across the program lifecycle
    • Lead the Configuration Control Board (CCB), coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and approve changes
  • Data Management Oversight:
    • Establish and enforce processes for storing, controlling, and distributing program data and documentation
    • Manage and maintain data repositories, ensuring secure access, version control, and traceability of deliverables
    • Track and submit contract data requirements (CDRLs), ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely delivery
  • System and Process Integration:
    • Implement CM/DM tools and systems to streamline configuration and data management activities
    • Collaborate with engineering, integration, and test teams to ensure proper configuration and documentation of system components
    • Support system audits, including Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), and provide required documentation
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure adherence to DoD standards, including MIL-STD-973, EIA-649, and contract-specific requirements
    • Generate CM/DM status reports and metrics, providing regular updates to program leadership and customer stakeholders
    • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure configuration and data management objectives are met
  • Collaboration and Training:
    • Act as the primary liaison between program leadership, engineering teams, and customer stakeholders for all CM/DM-related matters
    • Provide training and guidance to team members on CM/DM tools, processes, and best practices
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in configuration and data management, including leadership roles on DoD aerospace programs.
  • Proficiency with CM/DM tools such as Windchill, ClearCase, or equivalent platforms
  • Strong knowledge of DoD standards, including MIL-STD-973 and EIA-649
  • Experience managing baselines, tracking changes, and ensuring the integrity of technical documentation
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII, CMPIC)
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes and tools
  • Experience supporting satellite ground system or platform development programs
  • Experience in the Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) mission area
Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered

Clearance Requirement

Active DoD Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
