JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Kubernetes/ Container/ Containerization DevOps Engineer will design, develop, and build an automated CI/CD pipeline to deliver complex software products into a production environment.

This is a great opportunity to work with an elite cross functional team of other K8S Dev Ops Engineers along with Developers, Unix/Linux, Middleware, and Cloud Operations professionals. This position will support customer facing projects involving, but not limited to, application containerization, pipeline implementation and management, infrastructure as code development, automation development, and cloud migrations. Bring your own experience and work with our team to teach and learn while building, maintaining, and supporting our customer environments. The ideal candidate should embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with cloud development pipeline designs, implementation plans, operational documentation, and continual improvement of cloud service implementations and designs.
Evaluate and recommend potential improvements for inclusion into customer environments.
Shepard software baselines through the stage, deploy, verify, monitor, and respond phases of a CI/CD pipeline
Develop IaC and automation capabilities for use across customer environments.
Design and implement cloud-based deployment solutions for enterprise applications.
Improve and troubleshoot existing container orchestration environments.
Write and update technical documentation such as system documentation, training materials, processes and procedures.
Assist with implementing and improving pipeline processes including, dev/test/prod builds/releases.
Assist with Argo process flows, gitops, and continuous improvement of our git approach
Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in production systems and platforms.
Troubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for containerization issues.
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Work alongside other engineers on the team to sustain and advance our organization’s capabilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, and work/military experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency in container technologies such as Docker.
Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Experience with cloud-first, AWS/Azure native architectures and cloud PaaS & MaaS services.
Proficient with Python or equivalent programming language.
Experience with building and managing CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton).
Strong background in Linux system administration, especially Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Must be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
Must be able to effectively plan and prioritize tasking.
Capability to mentoring, and training with technical initiatives.
Must be capable of performing high quality work both independently, and with a team, in a fast-moving environment.
Ability to interact positively, collaborate and communicate appropriately with team members.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated experience with Argo
Demonstrated hands-on experience with monitoring technologies like ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
Demonstrated hands-on experience in programming and software development using Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Demonstrated hands on experience working with PostgreSQL and Apache NiFi.
Demonstrated hands-on experience working with Hadoop, Apache Spark and their related ecosystems.

Qualifications:
Education Preferred:
Bachelor of Science or better in Computer Science or related field.
