Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Predictive Modeling & Simulation Analyst for the USAFWC Exercise support. Candidate will be responsible for work in a multitasking, quick-paced, dynamic environment supporting USAF Warfare Center Large Force Exercises, Operational Test and Tactics Development. Candidate will support planning and execution of Chairman, Joint Chief of Staff (CJCS), Combatant Command (COCOM), and Major Command (MAJCOM)-level exercises and events. This position will work out of the USAF Warfare Center at Nellis AFB.

Responsibilities

Candidate will play a crucial role in assessing and predicting the interaction of many factors and variables related to Large Force Exercises. Candidate will use statistical modeling and simulation expertise to analyze complex datasets, develop predictive models, and conduct Monte Carlo stochastic simulations. Candidate will use advanced statistical modeling techniques to analyze and interpret large datasets, identifying key variables and trends to inform senior leaders and combatant command planning. Candidate will develop and implement predictive models to forecast and simulate the behavior of complex systems, events, or scenarios, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, validate models, and refine assumptions to ensure accurate simulations. Candidate will stay up-to-date with advancements in predictive modeling, simulation techniques, and relevant industry trends, and advise the team in best practices to integrate these advancements into the analysis process. Lastly, candidate will present findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders, providing clear explanations of complex concepts in a concise and understandable manner.

Primary Tasks include:
• Data Collection and Analysis: Gather customer inputs, translate them to variables and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and important variables to provide critical input for model development and simulation
• Predictive Modeling: Develop and refine predictive models using appropriate statistical methods and techniques to forecast outcomes and scenarios related to specific events or factors
• Simulation Runs: Perform Monte Carlo stochastic simulations based on established predictive models and defined variables, and then transform the data into a meaningful product for non-technical customers
• Model Validation: Test and validate the models to ensure their accuracy and reliability, adjusting as necessary based on results and customer requirements or changes
• Data Visualization: Create comprehensive data visualizations to represent simulation outcomes and model predictions clearly and effectively
• Process Improvement: Continually assess and improve modeling and simulation processes to increase efficiency and accuracy, incorporating new methods or technologies as appropriate

Qualifications

Required Skills:
• 5+ years experience in systems engineering, predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and simulation techniques
• Demonstrated familiarity with tools such as AFSIM, JDS, NGTS, EXTENDSIM, SIMDIS, and/or STK
• Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or MATLAB.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, systems engineering, or related disciplines
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Detail-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality of work, and the ability to flex to rapidly changing information and requirements

Desired Skills:
• Assist in the development of tools and processes to include: development of tailored visualizations, user experience and interface updates, automation of manual workflows, multi-system integrations, and after-action review product creation
• Experience with Air Battle Management, AOC, C2, combat operations and/or datalinks is highly desirable
• Working knowledge of military operations/exercise planning, dynamic targeting, intelligence operations, and sensor-to-shooter methodologies

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science required. Master's degree desired
• Graduate of formal USAF/USN platform instructor course desired
• Experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

Travel Requirements:
Routine travel is expected. Candidates should anticipate one week per month. Non-traditional work hours may be required. Expectation is that work will be performed onsite. Occasional telework options may be available with approval from mission partner.

Clearance Requirements:
Current Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain access to Special Access Required (SAR) Programs and Special Technical Operations (STO).

U.S. Citizenship is required.
