Aegis Aerospace is currently looking for a Structural Design Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO.
Overview:
The purpose of this position is to work with the prime contractor in developing and analyzing structures of the Geo-XO spacecraft. This position will support Aegis' contract with Lockheed Martin in Denver, CO. The structural design engineer will work with Lockheed Martin's structures team developing primary and secondary structures and instrument mounting platform structures drawings for the spacecraft. In addition, perform integration activities. Applicants will be responsible for contributing to the development of structural design elements and integration activities in support of Preliminary and Critical Design Review products. This role will also contribute to design review products, review of results, and communicating results effectively to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Develop primary and secondary structures drawings
- Develop Instrument Mounting Platform structures drawings
- Perform interface control drawing validation checks
- Perform dimensional analyses
- Work with project teams to review structural designs from internal and external teams
- Support project design reviews (PDR, CDR)
- Participate in regular team meetings to provide status and coordinate with teammates
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline with 3-5 years' experience in mechanical design
- Experience with developing structures drawings
- Experience drawing change processes
- Experience developing and maintaining parts lists and drawing trees
- Experience with structural analysis and model development
- Must have US Citizenship.
- Experience working with CREO CAD
- Experienced technical problem solver.
- Experience with interpersonal skills in a teaming environment where collaboration and communication are critical to the functioning of the team.
- Motivated self-starter willing to take initiative.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, project leads, customers, and with contract colleagues is essential.
- Ability to attain and maintain respect and confidence of the customer and contract personnel. A close, cooperative customer interface is essential.
- Mature, professional judgment in establishing objectives, milestones and priorities.
- Reliable and dependable work habits and dedication to get the job done.
DESIRED:
- Experience working on government contracts.
- Scripting knowledge for structural analysis execution/modeling
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
