Job Description:
L3Harris is actively seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer (SE) to support requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne platforms.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the Design and development of physical architectures incorporating CNS/ATM equipment into airborne systems for military and commercial customers.
- Translate the customer requirements into unique verifiable system level requirements.
- Define requirement traceability methods.
- Assist in leading the systems engineering trade study processes.
- Review trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
- Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
- Review alternative solutions and help establish the system design.
- Review and evaluate technical data package (electrical wiring diagrams, mechanical integration drawings, analysis reports, etc.) to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
- Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
- Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical professionals.
- Use of standard Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Operate within a Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM); TeamCenter preferred
- Conducting first article verification testing
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills
- Working with subcontractors and US Government customers.
- Working successfully both independently and in a team environment with the ability to lead teams through a system development and integration cycle.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with six (6) years of Avionics Systems Engineering experience.
- Graduate Degree with four (4) years of Avionics Systems Engineering experience.
- In Lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten (10) years of Avionics Systems Engineering experience
- Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- TeamCenter experience.
- Active Secret, or higher, DoD Clearance.
- Bachelors' degree, or higher, in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, Etc.).
