Electrical Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Develops electronic systems and components to use within equipment or machinery, supports other engineers to perform tasks when necessary. Applies leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts, contributes to the development of new principles and concepts. Works on unusually complex problems and provides highly innovative solutions. Operates with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision, mentors or supervises employees in both firm and technical competencies. Applies an advanced knowledge of the particular field of specialization to the completion of projects of major complexity. Possesses recognized standing in the professional field through a combination original contribution and positions of leadership. Plans, conducts, and directs research or development work on complex projects necessitating the origination and application of new and unique approaches.

Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience with acoustical and sonar engineering for sensing natural and man-made structures, objects, and architectures in marine environments
• 5+ years experience with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center
• Experience in the development of underwater acoustic signal and information processing algorithms, techniques, and systems
• Knowledge of acoustics in numerous physical mediums
• Ability to assess the impacts of differing sensor designs and sensor software processing on the ability to sense in a specific environment
• Ability to convey complex technical and system constructs across a diverse and integrated science, engineering, and acquisition team
• Secret clearance
• Master's degree in an Engineering or Physical Sciences field

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to document and communicate findings in non-technical terms for non-scientists
• Possession of strong written and verbal communication skills
• Top Secret clearance
• Doctorate degree in a Physical Sciences field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
