FedWriters seeks a dynamic Historical Research Analyst to join our team in supporting the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Office of Corporate Communications (OCC). In this role, you will design and implement compelling exhibits showcasing the vital contributions of Human Intelligence (HUMINT) to national security. This position requires conducting in-depth research on HUMINT operations, collaborating with experts, and developing educational materials to inform and inspire both internal and public audiences. Work Schedule and Location:

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 0700 to 1700 at Anacostia, Washington DC.

Responsibilities

  • Research and Content Development:
    • Conduct thorough historical research into HUMINT activities, leveraging various sources and archives.
    • Analyze findings to develop narratives that align with DIA's mission and historical significance.
    • Produce high-quality written and visual materials to support workforce education and public understanding of HUMINT's role in national security.
  • Exhibit Design and Implementation:
    • Develop and manage historical exhibits for the DIA Heritage Museum and other platforms.
    • Work with designers, historians, and HUMINT subject matter experts to create engaging, accurate, and visually compelling displays.
    • Ensure exhibits meet DIA standards for accuracy, branding, and classification compliance.
  • Educational Outreach:
    • Create presentations, workshops, and educational materials to enhance understanding of HUMINT's impact among diverse audiences.
    • Contribute to DIA History Branch (HSTB) initiatives, including oral history collection and lessons learned projects.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for HUMINT-related educational content.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Review all content to ensure adherence to DIA's classification and publication guidelines.
    • Verify the historical and contextual accuracy of materials for internal and external dissemination.


Qualifications

  • Education and Clearance:
    • Bachelor's degree in History, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
    • Active TS/SCI with CI poly clearance.
    • U.S. citizenship and willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in intelligence, with a focus on HUMINT operations.
    • Strong foundation in historical research, exhibit design, or educational outreach.
    • Expert knowledge of historical and contemporary HUMINT practices.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of creating accessible educational content.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and content management systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in high-pressure, team-oriented environments.
  • Preferred Skills
    • Experience with government agencies, particularly within the intelligence community.
    • Familiarity with DIA or IC-specific classification systems and security protocols.
