Senior Employee Relations Business Partner

Redstone Arsenal/Huntsville, AL

The Senior Employee Relations Business Partner is responsible for the development and administration of the employee relations program in Huntsville Alabama. We are looking for a company Ambassador to strengthen and form relationships, assist management with performance management, performance concerns, conflict management issues and disciplinary action.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist and conduct onsite employee relation activities
  • Serve as point of contact regarding HR policies and procedures and responsible for guidance to onsite employees to ensure consistent adherence to applicable policies
  • Organization and processing of performance reviews twice a year
  • Assists management with recommended training, performance concerns, disciplinary action and conflict management issues
  • Process offers and conduct onsite new hire onboarding
  • Conduct exit interviews to include summarization of findings
  • Represent the organization at selected conferences
  • Maintain an attitude and philosophy consistent with the company's standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience working with Federal Government employees
  • Secret Clearance Required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills
  • Responsive and organized
  • Thorough understanding of best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Experience working with Microsoft O365, particularly Teams
  • Experience working with HRIS systems
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Assist in the lifecycle of the recruitment process


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management, business or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Five or more years of experience in a position directly dealing with employee relations
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential preferred


Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Able to rotate between local work sites/locations (3 days onsite)
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
