SAIC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an entry-level Material Expeditor in North Charleston, SC.
Job Duties:
- Compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between warehouse and production areas, according to predetermined production schedules and order priorities: compiles and interprets inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
- Locates and distributes materials to specified production areas, using mobile stair platform, handcart, pallet jack, or forklift.
- Records and maintains perpetual inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed, through use of computer and CMPRo database.
- Prepares and ships material to customer locations.
- May examine material received, verify part numbers, and check discrepancies, such as damaged or unmarked parts.
- Submits change requests in database when appropriate.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- High school education or equivalent (GED) and two (2) years related experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
Required Security Clearance:
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
Desired Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
- Candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in a team environment and able to take direction and constructive criticism.
