- Responsible for allocating various resources of the contract
- Collaborate with the Contracting Officer (CO), the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), the Government Program Manager, the Contractor's senior management, and the Staffing Manager to ensure cross-discipline integration within the contract to meet Government needs
- Directly contributes to program efforts in several areas, including cost management/avoidance, schedule estimation and tracking, contract performance management, risk management, requirements analysis, training program staff, and quality assurance activities
- Ensures proper performance of tasks necessary to ensure the most efficient and effective execution of the contract
- Will utilize expert communication skills needed to direct the skilled technical resources and report on the technical progress, issues, and problem areas, as well as write and review technical documents
- Coordinates with Pricing and Contracts departments to monitor contract, subcontract and funding. Assists with forecasting program financial performance, developing and delivering required contract, departmental, project and/or financial reports
- Will provide overall direction of day-to-day practical program activities, manage contractor interfaces, consult with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverables, ensure conformance with program/project task schedules, costs and contractual obligations
- Support business development goals by expanding tasking with current customers
Required Skills:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Secret clearance required
- Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of experience
- Reporting on-site at Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio
- Comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management, as defined in DoDI 5000.02, AFI 63-101/20-101, as well as knowledge of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air Force.
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition programs.
- Knowledge of support activities that assist in assessing what programs are within schedule and cost baselines, be able to recommend viable solutions to problems, and the pursuit of alternative courses of action.
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing, providing quality acquisition and program documentation (briefings, documents, plans, etc.).
- The ability to plan, research, analyze, and assess system acquisition in terms of development, production, and deployment of weapons systems and associated equipment as well as formulate plans and recommend effective strategies in meeting cost, schedule and performance objectives.
- Support and develop acquisition reports, including statutory and regulatory reports (i.e., DAES, MAR, etc.).
- Support program management reviews, senior level meeting/reviews, and IMP/IMS reviews.
- Support and develop various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks to senior management.
- Complete senior level tasks independently, with minimal government instructions and clear goals and objectives
Desired Skills:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
