XMSTART is looking to add an experienced and strategic full-time Operations System Engineer to our team, in Chantilly, VA. This position is 100% Onsite and in support of a dynamic and innovative space program focused on next-generation space assets, including satellite constellations.
Responsibilities:
Support satellite operations from tasking to product dissemination for demonstration satellites, contributing to acquisition decisions for future systems and the development of future CONOPS.
Provide proactive operations planning and execution support across large satellite constellations, ensuring mission success.
Develop and coordinate transition plans for integrating new satellites into operations.
Provide technical expertise in anomaly detection and resolution, working diligently to solve problems and maintain satellite operations in a dynamic environment.
Develop innovative solutions for utilizing systems more effectively and enhancing mission capabilities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with functional counterparts, subject matter experts, and Government customers to ensure seamless integration and operations.
Serve as a mentor to team members, sharing knowledge and expertise in satellite operations and system capabilities.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of satellite system capabilities, operations, and CONOPS.
Utilize and master the numerous tools required for system tasking, data file transfers, and collection statistics analysis.
Participate in full lifecycle acquisition activities, from pre-acquisition planning to satellite launch and on-orbit checkout, ensuring all phases are executed smoothly.
Author, review, and coordinate documents, briefings, and data to assist the Government in effective communication and decision-making.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in satellite operations and understanding of operational systems and CONOPS.
Excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to think outside the box in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and collaborate effectively in an integrated office environment.
Demonstrated experience with satellite operations planning, anomaly resolution, and operations transition plans.
Experience in full lifecycle acquisition activities, from initial planning to post-launch operations.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to author and present clear, concise documents and briefings to aid decision-making.
Education:
Bachelors Degree (preferred)
Security Clearance Requirements:
Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph required
