Position: Senior Systems Engineer
Job Description:
The Senior Systems Engineer will lead the development of a system of interest, encompassing hardware and/or software, throughout its entire life cycle. This role will involve working closely with domain experts, managing risks and opportunities, and tailoring processes to meet the specific needs of each project. The successful candidate will apply advanced consulting skills and technical expertise to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of systems from requirements determination through operations and system retirement
- Involve domain experts in the development process
- Manage risks and opportunities throughout the project
- Tailor processes to meet the specific needs of each project
- Mentor and supervise team members
- Apply advanced technical expertise and industry knowledge to develop solutions
- Use digital engineering tools to design DoD systems
- Architect solutions from user requirements and use cases
- Utilize modeling tools such as Magic Draw, Cameo, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or IBM Rhapsody
- Conduct model-based performance simulations to determine the impact of requirements changes
- Create and manage tailored MBSE artifacts to capture engineering decisions and trades
- Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering and Integration and MBSE
- 5+ years of experience with using digital engineering tools to design DoD systems
- Experience with digital engineering tools and modeling languages such as UML or SysML
